Western Lake Freight.--Reduced Prices.--A letter from Buffalo says "There will be no association on the opening, and probably none through the season. Prices will therefore be low -- we think not to exceed 25 to 30 cts per 100 lbs., all round heavy and light, on the Upper Lakes and from 12 1/2 to 20 cts. on this Lake, (Erie) by steam. There will also be a line of propellers -- one of which will leave here on the opening which will carry at less rates; and vessels we think will carry as low as 7 cts. on this Lake, and 10 to 12 1/2 on the Upper Lakes on the opening and still less after the first trip."

N. B. -- The prices of freight, heavy and light to Chicago last year was 62 to 87 cts.
